We all waited patiently for the past two days for the water to receed but it kept raining and rising to a major flooded level and didn’t peak until about noon today. This afternoon the ICF officials here, and the team leaders, and the main organizer, Robert Sommer, decided that cancelling the event was immenent. The water would not receed to a level that was low enough for access to the river for judges, etc. by Sunday.
I got this news upon returning from the “Hardcore Wave” in Austria, where Arndt took Dane, Polly, the Japanese and I today. My quest for a comeback in the second event will have to go unanswered and I’ll have to settle for a 4th place finish in the 2010 World Cup. Dane will be crowned 2010 World Cup Champion in the Junior Class today, as will Pringle in Men’s, and Nina in Women’s, and Martin in C1, and Sandrina in Junior Women.
Awards for the World Cup will be at 9pm tonight.
Congratulations to the 2010 World Cup Champions!
