Competitive History

EJ Headshot 1Eric “EJ” Jackson is the most decorated and winningest kayaker of all time, and a softmore on the FLW Pro Bass Fishing Circuit

At the International level, EJ is four-time World Champion, with over 100 competition wins under his belt.   In 1992 Eric represented the USA in the Barcelona Olympics for slalom kayak racing before turning his attention to extreme racing, boatercross, expeditions, and freestyle kayaking.

Nationally and regionally, EJ is a multiple title holder of US National Freestyle Kayak Championships and is a regular feature at the top of the podium, in multiple kayak disciplines, at such prestigious events as GoPro Games, Reno River Festival and the FIBArk Whitewater Festival.

EJ’s two older children, Emily Jackson, and Dane Jackson are the current reigning World Freestyle Kayak Champions.    Dane is known for his big waterfall exploits and is a member of the Red Bull team.  Emily is a mother of two, and captured the eyes of the world winning major events while pregnant with both of her kids.

EJ, wanting the challenge of being a rookie again in a competitive sport that he could commit his next 30 years to, rekindled his fishing obsession and qualified for the FLW Pro Bass Tour in 2016.      Finishing his rookie year on tour in 143rd place out of 170 competitors above a field of farm leagues that number over 30,000 people was a reasonably good start, he felt, but the number 1 spot is his target.

EJ will be competing to make the USA Freestyle Kayak team this spring, after missing the team in 2015 for the first time in 25 years.
